Born the son of a Merchant Banker on the 2nd March 1941 in Caterham, Surrey, Jon Finch turned down a chance to study at the London School of Economics to join the Paracheute Regement. After leaving the services he turned to acting and his career has snowballed ever since on film, TV and the stage.
