Needless to say, this incident rather dented the otherwise great atmosphere but some normality was acheived by putting on the
message from Adam. What a pleasent surprise that was - Adam and Marco interviewing each other using questions "borrowed" from
the Antlib survey.
The dancefloor was never quite the same when the music started again, maybe due to Bryan's insistance on playing the same songs over and
over again - even playing Prince Charming twice in a row - or maybe because he refused to play any requests. Come on Bryan - your
job is to entertain your paying customers, not just play the tunes you happen to like !! It was at this point that the second
unfortunate incident of the night happened with the singer of Zerox and BS having a frank exchange of views in the DJ box.
It's now 4pm and the fans get ready to see the new lineup of Zerox, the Ant tribute band. Oh dear. I think that most people
will agree that they were, well, not very good. However there were a number of people on the dance floor, some even dancing rather
enthusiasticly and it would probably have gone OK if Marco haden't turned up halfway through their set, prompting people to rush off
dancefloor to see him. Much to my surprise Jo was the amongst the very first to see him!!
Marco then headed to the bar with Boz, only to be dragged back to the door almost at once by Seedy to sign Lyndas guitar - I'm glad
I didn't have to carry that thing all the way from "Oop North"
Seedy then pushed his way straight to the front of the queue again to get an autograph for himself and headed back to his seat.
That was when it happened. Maybe because of the sudden disappearence of everyone from the dancefloor, and certainly to the surprise of everyone - including
the band - someone took the incredibly unprofessional decision to turn the stage lights off and put the PA back on while the band were still playing.
The band, unfortunately, didn't react well to this and launched into a tirade of abuse at both the organisers and the fans - who reacted
by totally ignoring them.
After that, pretty much everyone contented themselves with chatting amongst themsleves - or maybe planning a trip to the Antlib
event in the spring. 7pm came all to soom, as always, and the gang headed back to the generator for the aftermath.....
